LAN Of The Damned run regular events in Warrnambool Australia, located in Victoria's South-West. These events focus on multiplayer computer gaming over a LAN (Local Area Network), and are held every two or three months. Each event includes several competitions with prizes, cheap pizza orders for gaming stamina, McDonald's for breakfast, and of course plenty of action in the latest computer games as well as some old favourites. If you're new to the gaming LAN scene or don't know what to expect, take a look at our Newbie Guide for a run down on LAN preparation, or jump into our forums and talk to some of the LANing veterans there. Of course we also have photos from all our past events to amuse and inform.

Time to give our new hall at Warrnambool College another go, hopefully this time with a higher attendance. For those who aren't familiar with the location, here's a badly drawn map. Entry will be $20 with 80 seats available.

For our main competition we'll once again be using Call Of Duty 4, and due to popular demand the novelty comp will be Unreal Tournament.

We'll once more have vouchers from Super Billing to give away as well as some stuff from Thermaltake. Some LanParty gear has also been kindly provided by AMD/ATI . Hopefully there will be more great stuff to come.

Registration is now open on MorB.

LAN Of The Damned XVII - The Aftermath (20 March, 2008, 05:28 PM)

Another one over and done with, and though the turnout was small I think everyone had a good time, there was even a few new faces. We were quite pleased with the new venue and hope to hold many great LANs there in the future, though hopefully with a few more people ;) As usual the cheap meals courtesy of Pizza Haven & McDonalds were popular, as was the vending machines supplied by Snack Attack. We had plenty of stuff to give away during the event thanks to Netspace & Jack's Games including hats, stubby holders, beachballs & vouchers.
Congratulations to The Master for winning the Call Of Duty 4 competition, and to Ginga Ninja for winning a VOIP box from Gigasoft IT Solutions & a $50 voucher from Super Billing as highest ranking non-admin. Also congrats to Axol for his win in the Quake 3 comp and his receipt of a Super Billing voucher.
Photos from the event can now be found in our Photo Galleries and stats from the comps can be foun don our Competitions page. If you'd like to offer any feedback on the event head into our forums to the LANOTD XVII - The Aftermath thread.

Though numbers are down for this one due to short notice it should still prove to be a great LAN. We've got some vouchers from Super Billing to give away as comp prizes as well as a VOIP box thanks to Gigasoft IT Solutions. During the LAN we'll also be giving away prizes to random gamers, and there should be plenty of stuff too thanks to Jack's Games providing us with some vouchers and Netspace also sending a bunch of gear.
Once more your culinary needs are being met thanks to Pizza Haven and their $5+ pizzas and also McDonald's discounted breakfast.
